Welcome Career Ambassadors!

A uwannadu career ambassador is a representative of a particular career.

You can now help others, especially students making early career decisions, understand what your specific job is all about by answering the 15 most asked questions in short video clips.

The benefits of being a Career Ambassador are two fold:

  • - Helping others (truly understand careers so they can make informed decisions)
  • - Helping yourself (by raising your profile for promotions or new jobs)

Here is what you do:

  1. Complete the career ambassador application form
  2. Follow the directions below and shoot 15 short video clips of yourself answering these 15 questions.

Important points on shooting the videos:

  1. The most important point is to make sure you get good sound. Most smart phones can do this if you are in a quiet room. You may also use a microphone connected to your video camera. Do a short test to make sure your voice is clear.
  2. Get the lighting right. Let’s see your face. Avoid back-lit situations where you appear as a silhouette. Again, test this before you shoot all 15 questions.
  3. Be professional and approachable. Nobody wants to watch a “stiff shirt” or an “unprofessional clown”. Take this are seriously as you want others to take you.
  4. Do not add background music and avoid excessive background noise like cars, horns, trains, other people, etc. if possible.
  5. You may include some separate random video shots of you doing you job which we can edit in while you area talking. For example: You working at your desk, plane, office, or walking around at work, talking to other people, on the phone or computer. Visit uwannadu to view examples of good videos.

After we upload your videos, we will send you a link and an Career Ambassador icon for your LinkedIn profile. We look forward to seeing your video and learning about what you do. Thank you for becoming a uwannadu Career Ambassador!
